The frames
All LLUM Eyewear features a single-piece frame with long temple tips, with a tendon hinge that ensures a wrapped fit with wide uniformly distributed contact surfaces anatomically designed to stay in place even under harsh dynamic use, like in running, biking, riding and even under wet/sweating conditions.
The inner surfaces of the LLUM fronts match offset surfaces of the human face, which ensures the highest level of comfort and protection, even under occasional impacts that can be common when living a sporty lifestyle.The wide lens box dimensions ensure practically zero frame interference in the field of view, while restricting peripheral light/reflection disturbances.The short back vertex distance (eye-to-lens) assists in larger clear vision zones, so the free-form Rx lenses can perform at their best.All LLUM Frames are entirely manufactured in Switzerland using a proprietary polyamide and Graphite material that stands out for its:
In direct comparison with the commonly used PA12 (TR90) our Polyamid Compound is more ductile because elongation at break is much higher. It also shows higher flexural stiffness and flexural strength, providing for better behaviour in bending than the TR90 reference.

The lower tensile modulus with higher flexural modulus and elongation of our new PA feels a bit softer in hand and behaves less brittle and moreforgiving under bending, which proves useful in sports and applications that require a protective, flexible frame with enhanced impact resistance and long-term wearing comfort.

THE ENDURANCE SERIES MK2Being the first and original LLUM design, it features a ventilation system that makes it the preferred choice where a tight fit is needed, especially in windy conditions. It maintains ventilation while keeping internal airflow non-turbulent, and at a comfortable low level even at the high wind speeds faced while riding your motorcycle, gliding or sailing your foiling monohull.THE SPORTSMAN SERIES MK1A slightly less inclined front, that provides higher ventilation.THE CYCLOR SERIES 0 (EXPERIMENTAL SERIES)Based on the Sportsman design, it features wider lenses that maintain the high wrap and ensure an unobstructed peripheral view, essential for reflexive awareness when cycling in groups or on transit roads. The choice for athletes that are used to wear shield type eyewear but dislike their bulkiness or need Rx lenses without inserts, clips and extra weight.
The lenses
All LLUM eyewear frames are designed to accommodate lenses in base curves 6 to 8, with a wide prescription range.The lens fit and edging is performed by our partner lens lab and workshop in Switzerland, using state-of-the-art CNC equipment, backed by two decades of pioneering expertise in sports optical lens technology.

THE BRAND
The first LLUM frame was created in 2016 by Angel Salvadó, industrial designer and composite materials expert, with extensive experience in motorsports, due to his rejection of contact-lenses and his own need for sports-capable eyewear that would correct, protect, and feel like you are not wearing any. After having spent way too much on testing the products from the top sports eyewear brands available, he decided to make his own. He went to see his motorcycle racing friend Luca in Italy, who brought in architect and award-winning / decorated designer Paolo, showed them the spec book, the conceptual designs, and after several iterations, came up with the first CNC machined LLUM frame.Next was the glazing, so here Franz Schlossmacher, optical technology expert and pioneer in Sports Vision, as well as the experienced optician Daniel Vogt came to help, and joined to fit the first lenses and assist with the prototypes and the serial R&D, providing for both the optical device expertise and the customer experience interface.Daniel ended up wearing and loving his own LLUM good enough to decide to fund and establish LLUM Spectacles Ltd. as the official and exclusive supplier of LLUM eyewear frames worldwide.He currently serves as CEO, setting the base for the further development of the products and presence of the brand.
